Day 15: We're going on a Sheffield hunt


A twist on the book we are going on a bear hunt - We're going on a Sheffield hunt, by Kayla and Jenna 

We're going on a Sheffield hunt we're going to climb a big hill, we're not scared! Oh dear, what's this, a large swooshy green field of fern! We can't go over it and we can't go round it so we must go through it! Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
We're going on a Sheffield hunt we're going to climb a big hill, we're not scared! Oh no, what's this, a path full of thorny brambles and nettles! We can't go over it and we can't go round it so we must go through it! Ow, Ow, Ow, Ow!
We're going on a Sheffield hunt we're going to climb a big hill, we're not scared! Oh dear, what's this, a river with gushy wushy water! We can't go over it and we can't go round it so we must go through it! Gush, wush, gush, wush!

We're going on a Sheffield hunt we're going to climb a big hill we're not scared! Oh no, what's this, mud, squelchy, squelchy mud! We can't go over it and we can't go round it so we must go through it! Squelch, squelch, squelch, splash (Kayla falling into the mud!)

We're going on a Sheffield hunt we're going to climb a big hill, we're not scared! Oh dear, what's this, lunch, yummy scrummy in my tummy lunch! We can't go past it and we can't ignore it so we will just have to eat it! Munch, munch, munch, munch!
We're going on a Sheffield hunt we're going to climb a big hill, we're not scared! Oh no, what's this, bumpy lumpy potholes! We can't go over them and we can't go through them, we have to go round them! Bumpy, bumpy, bumpy, pothole (Jenna shouts to Kayla!)

Oh no, HILLS must mean we have reached Sheffield now we are scared we must head back over the .........you didn't think we were really going to go all the way back did you?!

Jenna when walking through the jungle of plants: who needs to pay for exfoliation when you can just walk through brambles

Kayla: it's ok I can still see the path, I even see a crisp packet - Jenna's reply: i can't see anything just a face full of leaves 🍃

Day 16: We're drowning in rain and coffee

Today we left the Houghton household taking a member of the family with us - Fiona! Fiona like Ian led us out of Sheffield also in the rain but also in tremendous style, helping us navigate the hills! She kept us going and we were all entertained as she sang some Adele, topical to the weather (i bet you can't guess which song it was!) Although this time we top trumped it with the rain quality as we were drenched through to our underwear!! Stopping off at a cafe after we had just left Fiona we walked in dripping and sat down in the warmth to have a hot chocolate with all the toppings!!! ☕️ Funnily enough the coffee shop was called insomnia which was very ironic for the day! Next stop was in costa, where we found a hand dryer in the toilets and so attempted to dry parts of ourselves down! Off again through the rain and our next stop was Derby! Day 20: Aliens or just human trickery?

After a tremendous sleep we woke to glorious sunshine! Whilst it was sunny we proceeded to clean and fix our bikes for the next few days ahead! After some crazy planning in the map room with some jelly babies  we had a lovely quiche lunch. Then off to a crop circle museum to find out about the aliens or humans whichever you believe is true!😂 We then went to Avebury to see the stones, they were meant to be in a circle but it didn't look like the circle I had been taught at school, it was more like a wiggly line! We managed to walk through the stones, past the men with no shoes who were at one with the stones just before it poured it down with rain! We also saw many chalk horses on the hills! We headed back in the warmth of the car to the house. Day 25 "There's one more snail in heaven"

When in a warm cosy bed who would ever want to leave it? That question baffles us every single time we have to wake up in the morning to cycle in the rain! HOWEVER this morning we woke up to glorious sunshine, a magnificent feast put on for us by our lovely hosts, and raring to get the day done! But when we left the warmth of the amazing house full of wonderful people, we were catapulted straight into a face full of drizzle!  Today consisted of multiple hills (some we will admit to walking!) and envy of people in cars. As we arrived at the top of a hill we met a lovely man and his. He was astounded and shocked that we had with us no map and compass and even his puppy was too, as Ellie was barking tremendously 🐶! We then headed on up the hill and made it to lunch in Holsworthy for a bacon butty and lasagne in the worlds most empty pub!😂 After our late lunch Jenna got caught by an old local to talk about recent bike deaths within the area and Kayla found some more cows 🐮😂 we the...
